With the plethora of CBD products available on the market and new companies coming out all the time, it can be difficult to determine what brands are offering a truly quality hemp oil.

On Duty CBD is a relatively new company to the CBD scene that is determined to show they’re really here to make a difference.

Who is On Duty CBD?

On Duty CBD “American Hemp, Veteran Farmed.” According to their website, the co-founders of On Duty CBD came together with a mission to introduce CBD to veterans, first responders, active military persons, hunters, gun owners, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The On Duty CBD team is made up of nine individuals, each with their own unique background and specialized area of interest.

On Duty sources their CBD from premium organically grown American hemp plants grown in Kentucky without the use of pesticides, chemicals, or heavy metals. Their products use organic coconut MCT oil as a carrier oil and they use third-party testing results are available for all of their products and can be found easily on each product page.

Their products are made from American hemp proudly grown in the USA, vegan, eco-friendly, and free of animals ingredients. Along with the organically grown American hemp ingredients, they use an MCT oil coconut-derived C 8 (which is an organic MCT oil proudly made in the US).

The ingredients coconut MCT oil, coconut-derived C 8 is an important ingredient as a carrier oil to help deliver health benefits of the On Duty Pure hemp oil to the body and achieve maximum results of the beneficial plant extracts from the cannabis plant.

However, you should always consult a doctor when it comes to a serious medical condition. A trained medical professional will know if CBD can be used instead of prescription medications or as a supplemental dietary product to help treat a serious medical condition like pain relief from inflammation.

On Duty CBD Products

Like many CBD companies currently hitting the marketplace, On Duty has kept things simple by offering just a few products, tinctures for people and their pets, as well as two different topical options.

Keeping their target audience in mind, On Duty CBD offers two tincture choices, a full spectrum of cannabinoids extract and one that contains zero THC and just the naturally occurring molecule CBD. THC, CBD, and other beneficial cannabinoids create a full range of benefits. However, there are no psychoactive effects from the chemical compound THC since it is a legal amount of 3% or less.

500mg ($54.95) | 750mg ($74.95) | 1500mg ($124.95)

On Duty, Pure Hemp Oil CBD Tincture is made of American hemp ingredients, coconut MCT oil, and full-spectrum beneficial plant extracts.

Not all CBD companies make the effort to let potential customers know exactly what they’re getting in a bottle of CBD oil. From each chemical compound extracted from the hemp plant such as the full spectrum hemp flower extract to the certified organic MCT oil, On Duty full spectrum hemp CBD oil is made with premium hemp oil proudly made in the US.

This isn’t the case with On Duty. For each of their three tincture options, not only do they let you know how many milligrams of CBD are contained in each bottle, but exactly how many milligrams you get per one-milliliter dropper.

Check it out:

  • Pure 500mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 500mg of cannabidiol, which equates to 16.67 mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.
  • Pure 750mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 750mg of cannabidiol, which equates to 25mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.
  • Pure 1500mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 1500mg of cannabidiol, which equates to 50mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.

We personally think this is awesome, allowing anyone interested in purchasing a full spectrum of cannabinoids to understand exactly how much CBD they’re really getting. This important feature makes it much easier to purchase a product that fits one’s individual needs based on the dosage they desire.

What’s more is lab test results are available for each of their products, offering the transparency necessary for consumers need to make an informed buying decision. All their lab reports for their “Pure” full-spectrum hemp flower extract products tested well below the permitted 0.3% THC levels.

Each product also comes with certificates of analysis (COAs) that offer test results for pesticides, residual solvents, and other contaminants. On Duty CBD passed each with flying colors.

Color

On Duty Pure CBD oil is golden amber, indicating that it is indeed a quality CBD oil. You can tell a lot about CBD oil by its color. The highest quality oils are typically golden in color. This includes their use of certified organic MCT oil. The more processing they go through, the lighter they tend to be.

A dark green or brown oil basically tells you that there hasn’t been much processing of the oil itself, indicating that it still contains phytonutrients and other plant compounds.

Taste

A very important feature is taste. There are no added flavors to On Duty CBD Oil. For those who prefer a natural tasting CBD oil, they’ll find it in On Duty Pure. We found it to be smooth on the palate and the taste wasn’t at all overbearing, especially taking the extract daily on a sensitive stomach.

Any aftertaste we might’ve noticed disappeared less than a minute after swallowing it.

On Duty THC Free

On Duty, THC Free CBD Oil is designed differently than the On Duty Full Spectrum Hemp Oil. It is created for those who want to enjoy the benefits of CBD, but for whatever reason don’t want their product to contain THC or the full range of other active cannabidiol ingredients.

This is a great option for first responders, police officers, and military persons that need to keep their system free of even the tiniest trace amounts of THC while keeping focused and feeling energetic with their work.

Just like with On Duty’s Pure CBD, information is offered for each THC Free Tincture regarding milligram content per bottle and dropper full.

  • THC Free 500mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 500mg of THC-free cannabidiol, which equates to 16.67 mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.

  • THC Free 750mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 750mg of THC-free cannabidiol, which equates to 25mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.

  • THC Free 1500mg: Each 30ml bottle contains 1500mg of THC-free cannabidiol, which equates to 50mg of active cannabinoids per dropper.

Third-party lab test results all indicated what On Duty claims about their product. It truly contains zero THC. On Duty passed all COAs for each of their THC-free products, as well.

Color

On Duty THC Free is clear, indicating that it is likely made with CBD isolate (although we didn’t find any mention of this on their website). Clear CBD oils are those that have gone through the most processing.

They start out as oil but undergo further distillation and crystallization processes that isolate the CBD into a single molecule without any traces of other cannabinoids, including THC.

Taste

On Duty THC Free tasted like many other CBD isolate oils we’ve tried, meaning it really had no taste at all. While we might have captured a hint of coconut oil flavor (seeing it’s made with coconut MCT oil), it was barely distinguishable. There was no hint whatsoever of any “plant-like” flavor at all.

On Duty CBD Topicals

On Duty CBD also offers two topical choices for those looking for quick localized relief of joint and muscle and hip pain. All that pain requires proper pain relief and studies have shown that CBD may help in the place of pain meds for relieving pain. Instead of relying on anti-inflammatory drugs or conventional NSAID pain relievers.

Taking a CBD extract daily may help reduce pain and give a person a good nights sleep so they can sleep soundly. The lasting effects of taking CBD seem to have fewer withdrawal symptoms than those that are commonly associated with prescription pain medications. To achieve maximum results of your CBD product, always consult with a doctor to see if taking CBD oil is safe or if it has any lasting effects that may affect your overall health.

On Duty, CBD Lotion comes in a 4oz/120ml bottle and contains 6mg CBD per one milliliter. We found it rubbed on smooth and wasn’t at all greasy or sticky like many other CBD topicals we’ve tried.

After about 15-20 minutes we discovered a distinguishable difference in our pain level when applied to an old snowboarding injury that still gives us trouble 15 years later.

On Duty Pure Topical Roll-On might be our favorite product we tried. Not only is a roll-on topical something we don’t see all the time, but felt it was extremely easy to apply and offered noticeable relief for the tension we carry in our neck and shoulders.

It rolled on smooth and wasn’t greasy in the slightest. It’s also small enough to fit in your pocket, making it super easy to take on the go.

Other On Duty CBD Products

While our dogs weren’t lucky enough to test out On Duty Pure CBD Oil for Pets ($34.95), we’re pleased to know they carry one. Each 30ml bottle contains 250mg CBD, offering 8.33 mg of CBD per dropper full.

On Duty also has an official On Duty CBD American Flag T-Shirt ($28.00) for those who proudly want to display their love not just for CBD, but their country as well.

Final Thoughts

We come across several new CBD companies each week. At CBD School, part of our mission is to review CBD products to let potential consumers know just what they can expect. We’ve found CBD has offered us tremendous benefit and truly want others to experience the same. Not all CBD products are created equal.

Some CBD companies stand out from the rest by offering clear transparency about themselves and the products they carry. On Duty CBD is one of them. We were pleased with each product we tried and believe they’re offering a real quality product. Would we use On Duty CBD again? Absolutely. Next time we’ll just make sure to order some for our pets, as well.

Take two of the most hot-button, tendentious issues of our time – cannabis use and gun rights – combine them, and now we really have a debate. As the law currently stands, medical cannabis patients are not afforded their 2nd amendment right to bear arms. Technically, all cannabis consumers are banned from buying guns, but only medical […]

Cannabis policy changes in Africa are welcome. But small producers are the losers by Clemence Rusenga

Cannabis is a drug crop with a long history in Africa. Alongside coca and opium poppy, it has been subjected to international control for nearly a century. The International Opium Convention of 1925 institutionalised the international control system and extended the scope of control to cannabis. In 1961 a new international convention was adopted to […]

University of Sydney to Offer Free Cannabis Testing by Johnny Green

The University of Sydney is launching a fairly robust study in an attempt to, as the university describes it, “investigate cannabis consumption, behaviours, and attitudes among users.” Part of the study involves offering free, anonymous cannabis testing for people that cultivate their own cannabis in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Cannabis was decriminalized in 2020 in the […]
